Hisotry and Culture
In the medieval times this place was strongly under attack of pirates. That is why people moved to the hinterland and just a few villagers stayed here. Dramalj was divided into two counties, because it didn’t have one of its own. In the 19th century every city became its own modern government like it was used to in France. Then Dramalj got its own county and was separated from the previous counties.
One of the tales about Dramalj speaks about the woman in Dramalj as they used to be. The tails speak about beautiful woman unlikely the others in the area. They also weren’t evil like some woman in the nearby villages.
The situation between the two world wars was very hard. The most villagers were ordinary workers, mainly construction workers, carpenters, locksmiths, shoemakers and fishermen.
