Over the years, millions upon millions of computers have been thrown as ordinary garbage. This electronic gadget is often outdated in just one to five years and with this rate, more and more are being dumped and deemed useless. Some of these could also leak out hazardous materials and could cause environmental damage. In the United States, more and more states are caring to preserve what is left of Mother Earth. Also, to reduce the threat of the toxic leaks there are now much legislation that are being passed to aid computer recycling.

Computer recycling in Maine does not only focus in recycling damaged computers but also useless TV sets. On this state, it is illegal to throw away used computers unless the owner could prove that the garbage that he is about to throw is non-hazardous.

Computer recycling in Massachusetts is also being regulated. Throwing damaged computers (and also old television sets) is banned on this state. This practice is being observed in Massachusetts as the authorities figured that majority of their waste products were solid wastes. Computer monitors and TVs comprised a huge chunk of these solid wastes.

Computer recycling in New Hampshire is done for free; all that an owner has to do is to take his computer junk to the processing facilities and the people there would take care of everything!

With these three states doing their share on this task, perhaps, it would be safe to say that Mother Earth still has many years to live.
